Shared: The Strangest Things We’ve Found In Vacant Homes

American Real Estate Media photographs a lot of houses, and some of those houses are vacant. When a house is empty, it is always a mystery what you will find on the other side of a door, and our photographers have surely seen some funny and interesting things. Take a look below at some of the curious and comical things they have come across:

  • Literally stumbled across a dead racoon on basement stairs

  • A solitary shoe seems to show up all the time

  • A spotless, totally empty house other than an open kitchen cabinet full of mismatched socks

  • One really creepy, beat up doll sitting on a windowsill facing the street

  • Some kind of large creature’s nest in a bathtub

  • A whole, unopened loaf of bread just sitting in the middle of the living room floor

  • On a fridge, there was a Post-it with the message “Attn: The roach’s name is Wallace, and he is quite the jokester.”

  • One of those joke rubber chickens in a pan on the stove

  • On the wall above their toilet tank, someone had painted 5 little stars and “5/5 - I will definitely go here again.”

  • On the kitchen counter there was a bowl with a tag that said “please take one,” and the bowl was full of twigs and pine cones.
