Natural Light As A Healthy Selling Feature
Exposure to daylight is healthy, and homes with good natural light can use it as a selling feature.
With real estate photography, lighting is of tremendous importance. Beyond just getting a great shot, however, what difference does light make in a home?
The Effect Natural Light Has
According to research recently summarized by NAR, exposure to daylight in a natural cycle with periods of light and dark has a slew of health benefits: reduced stress, improved sleep, mood benefits, and general benefits for overall mental health. Homes with good natural lighting can confer these benefits to their residents, so it is certainly worth pointing out this feature to buyers.
Good lighting is also desired by buyers for other reasons such as the benefit of indoor plants, lowered lighting costs, and simply for aesthetic reasons.
How We Can Help
Our photographers are always conscious of how light in a home will affect their photographs and videos, but they can also work with the light to showcase it as a feature of the home. This will lead to more engaging photos that will also demonstrate that the home receives significant natural light.
For the best results, consider the time of year you will be listing the home, the position of the home and windows, and find out the time of day where the natural light will give the desired effect.
